Cleansing vegetable broth a medicinal blend
Cleansing Veg Broth
This is something I created years ago, it was an medicinal experiment that turned out great. I love using foods and herbs as medicine. This soup is wonderful to aid liver and kidney function, great to aid cleansing, detoxing and weight loss, helps reduce inflammation and fluid retention.
Ingredients- use organic where possible
Approx 2 litres of chicken or veg stock if vegan
1/4-1/2 celery stalks and leaves
bunch of parsley
1 red capsicum
3 fresh garlic cloves
2-5 small cubes of fresh ginger
spices 4 tsp of tumeric, 1/4-1/2 tsp of cumin, 1/4-1/2 tsp of paprika, volume of spices depends on desired taste. If Fennel is in season add a fresh bulb.
,Method- Chop all the veg, garlic and ginger into small pieces, add to pot, cover well with stock and water. Bring to the boil, add dried spices and chopped parsley stir well, simmer for 10-15 mins, no longer. Leave this as a broth or blend well into a puree. Nourish your body, and enjoy.
