Feature Yoga posture of the week, Downward Dog

Smooth your back and legs with Downward dog

Feature Yoga posture of the week, Downward Dog.
Adho Muka Svanasana, (AH-do MOO-kah shvah-NAHS-anna)
This pose is great for beginners and people of all levels. Will smooth out the back, legs, and lift the butt!
Downward dog will stretch shoulders, hamstrings, and calves, will strengthen arms and back.
This is a great one to flow into many other postures for sequencing.

Tips- place hands a shoulder width apart, have your palms flat and spread the fingers, have your feet a hip with apart. Tilt hips towards the ceiling, gently pressing the chest towards the legs.
If the legs are really tight, lift the heels off the ground as pictured below, will ease the pressure off the hamstrings and calves. Engage belly, lift towards the spine during the posture, this will take some pressure off the shoulders. Enjoy, Namaste!
