Seaweed is a treasure chest of goodness- this is why you should eat it and a meal recipe for you!

SEAWEED~ if you’re not already eating it this is why you should- You may have seen this at places that sell sushi rolls & Japanese restaurants. Seaweed is a power house food provided by our ocean contains high amounts of protective antioxidants, Iodine & Tyrosine which support Thyroid function. With boasting amounts of Iron, Calcium, Manganese, vitamin K, A, E and Vitamin B12. Seaweed supports gut health providing fibre & prebiotic compounds that feed our gut bacteria, can reduce cholesterol levels & protect heart. Seaweed can help curb hunger as it makes you feel fuller for longer, and reduces satiety the hunger reflex in our brain. is also wonderful for skin health. Types of seaweed you can enjoy Kelp, Wakame (pictured), Kombu and Nori, are the most commonly available. Nori is used in sushi rolls and soups, I have been eating seaweed salad which is make from Wakame (pictured), You can buy small packs from sushi take away outlets or buy in bulk. I’ve been getting my salads from my local fish shop they sell it in bulk frozen so I cut it up and pop it back in the freezer. if you would like to get this delicious superfood into your belly the visit any sushi retailer or Asian grocer. If you are not keen to eat seaweed then you an always take a kelp supplement which is rich in nutrients.

Super food seaweed meal- Abundant Health style

I tell you this combination is so delicious, this meal doesn't look like much but it is very filling and highly nutritious!

Ingredients- 1/2 cup of Wakame seaweed salad

1/2 avocado sliced

1/2 large mango sliced

3 cherry tomato

4 slices of cucumber

Dressing 2 tsp of Tamari or you can use soy sauce

1 tsp of Kewpi mayonaise or whole egg mayo

1-2 tsp of Wasabi paste

squeeze of lemon or lime

stir with a spoon until it's mixed well

Place the mango slices, avocado slices, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and seaweed on a plate, drizzle the dressing over the mango and avocado. When eating this try the avo, mango and seaweed together on your fork all at once, OMG it is a flavour sensation that really works!
